Content Recommendation
As part of this newsletter, I also want to highlight some good content worth sharing with my subscribers. Hopefully, the content will be something subscribers will also enjoy and get some value from.
I recently read an interesting New York Times article called The Sneaky Sticker Shock of Subscription Culture, where the author discusses how much lazy spending we all do as consumers because of this and that little subscription. This can apply to businesses as much as personal spending. The interesting part to me was the rate of growth in subscription spending and how much the average USA consumer spends monthly. It has some interesting high-level macro facts and helps inform the dynamic in which these SAAS or ARR-style businesses operate. It was an interesting read. However, I did cancel two subscriptions on the back of it.
